Sav-1 Rifle Basics trigger

I built a Savage 10 20 Practical into a open country coyote rig. I've had some problems with the accutrigger on it, when set light pressing sideways on the blade would trip the trigger with out firing the rifle and I would have to open the bolt to reset the trigger. It worked perfect if I remembered to pull straight back on the trigger.

Today I installed a Rifle Basics SAV-1 and it is nice, will make a great hunting trigger. Easy to install/adjust, light/crisp and breaks right at 1 1/2#, it could go lighter but It will be fine with gloves on.

I'm happy.

I have a model 110 and I have the trigger as light as it will go. While nice and light, sometimes it does what yours was doing. Aggravating as he11. The RB trigger is a great fix to this problem. I may go that route myself.

One of my Savages did that right out of the box (unacceptable). Some say it's an intentional "feature" but that's a BS excuse for a defective trigger. I replaced it with the RifleBasics-1 and am very happy with it.

None of my other Savages have ever had that issue.

My old Savage 112 had a pretty rough factory trigger. Not terrible but for a varmint rifle left much to be desired. Bought an RB trigger for it and surprised myself at how easy it was to install. Fiddled with it a few minutes until I got it to break nice and clean at 2.5 pounds. Still in the gun and still happy with it.

I put one of those in my Stevens 200 about 10 years ago. They are fantastic triggers IMO, I think it was about 90 bucks at the time. Really turned that rifle around.

Given an offer I couldn't refuse a few years ago, I got a Sav-2
trigger. It took a little Dremel work on the inletting but
what an improvement it was. Also have a couple of Timney's and
the Sharp Shooter Supply trigger on others. Would not swap out
any of them to go back to the factory option.

This last weekend, BIL and I switched his 110 fp from 308 to 22-250. We also installed the RB trigger, not impressed, ,I think shims are need to stop the side to side movement of the trigger on the pin. We set it at 2.5#, I'm not a fan of Savage triggers in general especially the accutrigger.

I just ordered a Rifle Basix trigger preset at 2 lbs for a Rem 700 243 I’m building. Already have one on my 700 7mm mag deer rifle. Really like this triggers.

Fred at Sharpshooter Supply installed one of his triggers in one of my bench rifles.
Model 12 BVSS 223rem.
That been 10 years ago or more. It still breaks at 8 oz.
