Does the bolt action 22 mag shoot as good as the 17

Don’t know but the first 100 yard 6 shot group with my 22” stand model Ruger American shot .323” with 30 grain hornady vmax ammo. From some of the Internet reviews it seems they shoot just as good with the same ammo. Paid $199 for it at Cabelas a few years back on clearance sale around Christmas time. They were out of the 17 HMR‘s at all the Cabela’s ot I would’ve bought one of those to for the price.

I have a Ruger American compact WMR that shoots 3/4" groups at 100 with CCI ammunition. It ain't pretty, but it shoots as well or better than the more expensive Browning T-Bolt I have.

Agreed not to mention the ruger magazine is way better than the savage stamped metal ones.

I use my Savage 22 mag for prairie dogs, usually under 100 yards, but I shoot a few out to 125.

so nobody here owns one I am very very happy with my 17.

I came here a while back and did not believe that the 17 would shoot like people said and some one said just buy one im a believer now . If the 22 mag will do 2 inch groups i'll order one.
