I am haveing a problem with my 340 savage 222 rem not pulling out the case (live or spent). When I pull the bolt and set a spent one in it and pull against it seems the extractor over rides the rim and the case feels loose. Could it be just the extractor is wore out or did my bolt get turned out too wide? Has any one had theres do this?

I can push it in and it seems to be tight. I had it all a part its only a thin peice of metal that is bowed in by the pin and it pushes against the extractor.

i have a m 340 222 and have not had this happen. i took my
bolt out and looked at the extracter, it has a claw that
grips the rim of the shell. with the bolt out try pushing
an EMPTY

hit the submit button to soon. try pushing an empty shell
into the bolt to see if the extracter grabs and holds the
rim tightly. the claw may be worn or the tip could be
broken off.

I pushed an empty in and the claw barely catches. How far out does yours stick out? Mine is 0.05 It only catches by a hair im betting that is my problem.

I had one in 30/30 and polished the chamber with JB paste on a bore mop with the rod chucked in a cordless drill. I've seen others mention this also in different ways. Don't go fast and check it occasionally, careful not to get into the bore. It shot as well or better than prior to doing this and no more stuck cases.
