Savage Accutrigger Problems.... Help

I have a savage .243 with accutrigger. The gun is less than 3 months old. Whenever I took it out to shoot it today I pulled the trigger and the accutrigger (the silver part in the middle) just stuck and would not go back and kept the rifle from firing. It made a little click noise but the firing pin never hit the bullet. I cleaned it and it would fire about 50 percent of the time and get stuck the other 50 percent. Anyone have this problem before?

You need to make sure that you are fully depressing the silver blade or they will click but the sear does not release. Just lift the bolt handle to re-cock. They do not work if you squeeze/pull the edge of the trigger. I had the same thing happen when I got my first accutrigger and had to re-learn how to squeeze a trigger.

I had that problem on my 10fp. It's a simple fix. you can wiggle the trigger side to side, that might fix it. If that don't work there is a spring on the trigger mechanism that should be turned clockwise, ( I think). You should have gotten a tool that is used to set your trigger pull, and manual that instructs you on how to adjust your trigger. IMO I think your trigger pull is set too low. It could also be your not pulling the trigger back correctly. I would definitely get your manual out, and your tool to set your trigger pull. It happened to me at the range and I was able to fix it without the trigger tool,I just turned the spring 2 revolutions (It's that simple).

Good Luck

Hey thanks Aladd. I took the stock off and adjusted the Accu trigger, it was set all the way on the lowest setting. Seems to be working just fine now.
