savage axis and edge?

I think they are pretty much the same gun but someone already had the name edge taken so they switched it to axis. Atleast this was my understanding.

Same rifle, different name.
No issue with the bolt at all,
same as Any 90 degree bolt lift action.
Ruger/Remmy/Savage/Winchester/CZ..........................

I have a redfield 4-12x40 mounted in low game reaper mounts on my .223 and i get a slight amount of scope rub from the bolt handle when moving the bolt back and forth.

I am picking up a stainless Axis in .30-06 tomorrow and will be mounting a VX-3 3.5-10x40 in medium game reaper mounts- this should take care of it as it barely rubs in the low mounts.

I have the Axis in 25-06 with the stock Bushnell 3-9 and dont have any problems with scope rub. However there is a small problem with feeding from the magazine. Unless the rear of the magazine is hel in or the cartridge is moved a little forward, the bolt doesn't seem to want to grab the shell.

I have one in 25.06 with a 4.5x12.40 Nikon Prostaff. I had it sitting low and pretty...then I went to open the bolt and it just barely scrapped the scope so I had to go to a higher mount and it barely makes it.

51.5 to 52 grains of H4350 with 115/117 grain bullets and 51.5 to 52 grains H4350 with 100 grain bullets. Several other powders (H4831, IMR 7828, RL 22) work well too, but since I rely on H4350 for my .30-06 and .243 I just keep the one powder for all.

My 24 inch barreled Savage gets 3350 fps with a 100 grain bullet. I haven't chronoed the 115 Nosler load.
