Looking to pick up a 243 for deer, predator,and varmit. Been looking at various brands -- a Savage Axis caught my eye --price is low $300's. This rifle is going to be used and will most likely be rattling around in a truck most of its life. My question is the matte finish --I have no experience with it and want to know how it holds up to wear and rust. Any thoughts out there-- thanks in advance.
