Well at Shotshow 2012 Savage had out their new combination gun

Figured a few here might be interested.

The most important parts are

"With an MSRP of $459 (street prices will be lower) the first Model 42 Combinations are scheduled to hit the shelves late in Q1 of 2012. The debut models will be chambered in .22lr/.410, with .22 Magnum and 20-gauge offerings to follow"

I can honestly say that I'd pick one up if it was a 223/12or20. I have no use/desire for a 22lr or mag for hunting....

That is just a cheapo take on the 24! It is so ugly the rabbit would probably vomit upon seeing the gun and make the shot easy for you !

I would just get an old 24 or budsgunshop has the M94 in 12/.223 for 5 something. You can pick up used baikals for 300 or less. There is also the one made by tikka if you can find one.

Personaly, I would want two triggers like the baikals have.

I like my model 24f in 223/12ga for coyotes. I might have to get the rimfire for squirrels. A sturdy scope base that mounts on top would be nice.

Here we go with the pretty gun thing again.....let's see how it shoots. Stevens 200's are ugly too, but they shoot great and are cheap!

My father has a Savage 22 mag./20 guage over/under. Not a bad gun except the dang trigger pull feels like it's twelve pounds or more!!

A stevens 200 looks like a super model compared to that contraption! I thought benellie nova was ugly, but even that looks sexy compared to this thing! It says right in that topic, couldn't make wood and blue for under 600 so now they redisigned it to be at the 400 price point but there was nothing wrong with the 24 in the first place.

Ugly it is but more importantly, did they address all the point of impact/lack of barrell adjustment issues that plagued nearly all of the other 24's? I just bought my first one last weekend and the shotgun shoots nearly a foot lower than the rifle. Still a work in progress too.

I'd buy one in a heartbeat but only after they had been out a little while and got whatever bugs it might have out. Ugly would be just fine for a truck gun.

i have a 24d in 22 mag 20. it a good looking gun and deadly. i had an ithaca/tikka 12ga/222 but sold it . that is what i would get . i could not hunt with that ugly one.
