Savage Model 25 WALKING WARMINTER

Has anyone handled this gun yet? I'm torn between it and a model10xp for a gun to carry to far off p-dog towns. Thinkin' .204 in either model.

Had a model 25 in 204. Light brown laminate vented thumb hole stock, semi-bull fluted barrel. I believe it was called the 25 light varminter or something like that. Excellent gun...only reason I no longer own is because I got a savage model 12 in 22-250 an already had a 204 in 700. Loved the 25 [beeep]. Wish I could track the guy down an buy it back. Light weight an sweet shooting.
 
I have never handled a 10xp but have a .223 in the model 25 and it is easy to carry and shoots great. I will say the finish on the 25 is high gloss and I had to paint mine flat black to kill the glare!
 
yeah I just read that on their site today. I'm wondering if I should bite the bullet and get the 25 in a .204 or spend a little more and get a gun people have shot and like the model 10 in a .204????? The model 10 comes in a over 8 pounds where as the model 25 comes in at 6 and a half.

So you guys with model 25's do you mind the action? or the plastic mags?

I have a savage in a .22 mag and the bolts not bad on it. just pondering which gun to get.
 
The 5.7x28 is a centerfire .224 bullet that has similar velocities to the Hornet. They are generally found in the FN PS-90 and FN Five-Seven, however other companies make aftermarket barrels chambered in 5.7 (Such as Thompson Center and Schelin)

These guys also make an AR-15 chambered for the 5.7x28, however it is called an AR-57 and uses the mag-well to eject spent casings.

My 25 the bolt was very easy to work. Slid nicely an the plastic may didn't bother me at all. Like I said... wish I could track down the Guy I sold it to. I'd love to buy it back.
