You can get a new trigger from Cabela's.  I know what you mean about the trigger pull.  I bought my son one for Christmas and there is a lot of slack in the trigger before it will fire.  I've learned to guage it but my son can't do it.  I'm just a little nervous about getting a low poundage trigger for him.  But I've seen them at Cabela's for about $80 I think or you can look here for more information.  I think its the same trigger replacement as Cabela's http://www.riflebasix.com/savage.html
