savage or howa?

I have a RRA Coyote and I really (really) like it. Having said that my back up gun is a Savage Precision Carbine in 223, one hole'r at 100 yards if I do my part. I have to admit I have not even handled a HOWA but the Savages have really came on in the last few years.

Good luck in which ever you choose.

thats great hahah

I think you will like the Precision Carbine, I know of four locally and they are all shooters. They seem to be a notch above their standard models. My calling buddy just took a 308 P.C. and put a Shilen 260 Barrel on it. I can't wait to see how it shoots. If you disassemble them just make sure to follow the directions for putting the Accustock back on.

I have been shooting the Precision Carbine for about 4 months now and it is terrific. I have owned a lot of different Savages over the years but this one is probably the best "out of the box" of any of them. The new acustock seems to be very effective. Mine is in .308 and it out shoots my Rem 700PSS that I have had trued.
It is also good to see that even though last year Savage said that it would not put the Acustock on anything smaller than a .270, they have changed their mind and put it on the new Predator Max-1 in 223 or 22-250.
I look forward to shoooting them.

I like my Howa. The action is easily as smooth as any new gun out there these days. I hate to admit it, but the action is nicer than the 700 SPS I bought last year. Best part about the Howa is the price. I got mine through Gun Genie for $427.82 OTD. That's hard to beat.

The Howa is a slicker action, better magazine, forged reciever, integral lug. Anyone who owns both won't argue!

Most times the Savage will beat the Howa in accuracy!

your pick!

I got a Howa Axiom in 204 and the 1500 in 270 and would highly recommend either gun both and shooters. The only thing bout the Axiom is the fact it weighs 10lbs without a scope some people dont like to pack around a gun that heavy but you get use to it after awhile.

Got my Savage Precision Carbine yesterday. Put a leupold vx II on it with Game Reaper mounts. I don't know if it is me or the guns but the Howa with the 20 inch heavy barrel shots a better group than the Savage. But the Savage I like alot better. The detachable magazine, the larger bolt handle and it fits me better.
