Savage's new AXIS II with Accu-Trigger

This may be old news, but I don't recall seeing any mention of it here so figured I'd post it for those who weren't aware. At the 2014 Shot Show, Savage introduced their new Axis II XP package. The new model has the Accutrigger and an upgraded (???) scope. It is also available in Youth and Youth Muddy Girl configurations as well, and apparently the same calibers as the former Axis.

Yeah, and even though the "upgraded" Weaver Kaspa is reported to be just another "pull - off" scope, as with most package deals, IMHO the Accu-Trigger alone is a great deal for the extra $89.00. But I do hope they offer the Axis II without the scope package in the not too distant future.

I bought a Kaspa scope for my 22 mag not bad glass. A lot better then most of the package scopes the one that came on my rem I would not put on A BB gun. I do like the upgraded trigger

Hadn't seen one of the Axis rifles before till the other day, but I think it is just plain ugly, The fore arm part.

They are ugly ... but a lot of bang for the buck. And many shoot lights-out right out of the box. So, as with most things I guess, the beauty is all in the eye of the beholder.

MSRP is 489

Should keep retail price under $400 at Wally World. $50 more or so than the Ruger American w/ no scope or "new" trigger.

And the ante has been upped yet again......

Maybe a good thing and maybe not.

I just picked up an Axis Stainless at cables for 279. Rifle Basix trigger added for 89 including shipping.

All depends on the street price.

I don't know that Savage has ever given an accuracy guarantee, but I could be mistaken. The two I have shot just over 1" at 100 and I got that down with Superformance ammo and better triggers.

For the price and the results, they don't have to - the internet forums have become their best advertising.

I notice that so far, they're only offering the new Axis II Youth Models in .243. I wonder when/if they plan to offer them in .223 & 7mm-08 also, as in the original Axis Youth models? I would assume that the original model axis' will likely be phased out before too long, unless maybe they plan to keep them as a lower cost alternative to the newer model, now that they are no longer listing the Stevens 200 on their site. Anyone have any thoughts on this?
