Simply a business decision.Hey I've never seen a semi auto cooper.He obviously figures if its bad for my competitors, its good for me.I hope we all remember this.
 
Hmm.....believe I am going to the Cooper website and send them a very polite email stating my buying preferences will never include a Cooper firearm.

I read with interest an article in the USA today your support of Mr. Obama for President.

The great part about being an American is having the freedom of speech, the freedom to vote for the candidate of our choice, and the freedom to choose to do business with whom we wish. While I do not agree with your support of Mr. Obama, I respect what your decision stands for. As a Life Member of the NRA, I simply can’t understand your choice, knowing how Mr. Obama stands on issues involving the 2nd Amendment.

While it may not matter to you, I will never choose to do business with your company, or consider buying one of your rifles. I will also make sure that as many of my friends that are hunters and sportsmen know about your support of Mr. Obama.

While I may have not been "planning to buy in the near future," I can almost guarantee that now it's a certainty..
 
I just got off the phone with them. I told them I couldnt believe they would support a canadate who would like nothing more than take our gun rights away. I also told the nice lady that I have purchased 3 cooper rifles this year alone and had plans for more next year but with this news I would no longer consider another one.

She said,
Thanks for the call and I'll pass it on.
 
Wow! I WAS planning on buying a Cooper rifle and was setting my spec sheets on the darn thing. Not any more!

I will send the spec sheet to Cooper with a big "CANCEL ORDER" on it.

Well I guess I'll scratch that off my wish list. One of my friends just got a Cooper and after looking at it I was thinking that was the way I'd go down the road but this little bit of news takes care of that.

Tim you did a great job on the letter, I think I'll be sending something to them in the next day or two.
 
This is a rumor, but I just heard that Cooper told his worried staff--worried for their jobs, that is--that this would all "blow over" after the election when Obama wins. After Obama gets in and "they" (us unenlightened peons) see that everything is fine "they" (us) will forget all about it. Their memories are short, he reportedly said.

We have GOT to send a message and drive him out of business. Anyone who hates their customers that much doesn't deserve the time of day, let alone people's hard-earned money.

Coopers have always been out of my price range but at least now I won't drool over them anymore in the gun shop.

The closer Tues gets the sicker I'm feeling. Might be hanging the flag at half-mast next Wed.

Regarding the USA Today Article. Cooper Firearms of Montana, Inc. did not contribute and does not support in any fashion the campaign of Senator Obama.

Nine months ago Dan Cooper (personally) made an online donation to the campaign in an effort to help defeat Hillary Clinton and in protest of American plant closures and the shipping of jobs overseas. Three months ago he made yet another donation to the McCain campaign and the RNC totaling over twice that given to Obama campaign.

There is no doubt that the article in USA Today has caused a considerable response. To this end we are encouraged and stand with our fellow NRA members and supporters of the Second Amendment and against those who oppose it.

BTW, this is BS. He's been IN THE TANK for Obama and has finally figured out he's going to be out on the street with Jim Zumbo, lol!
