Scope For 12 GA Slug Gun

I would like some opinions on a scope with good eye relief .Since I started wearing glasses my current scope has bit me pretty bad as it is advertised at 3.3 in of relief . What are some others using . I like the Nikon Omega on my muzzle loader with standard plex , but the newer ones are cluttered up with BDC reticle that I don't like . Would like a 2x7 or 3x9 with a standard plex with good eye relief .

I would just use a 2.5 fixed shotgun scope

I used a cheap tasco on mine and was able to shoot 3in groups at 125yds using 2 3/4 brenneke slugs

on a Mossberg slug gun but then again ghost ring sights work also

I know your dilemma I grew up in northern Indiana and the shotgun thing stinks

Leupold VXR 2-7. Excellent scope and resonably priced. I have one with the German 4 crosshair and it really helps in low light situations. Big money scope would be Trijicon 1-4. With that you can use both eyes open 1x so eye relief isnt that big an issue. My buddy has them on several of his guns, mostly SBE2's and an Ithaca deerslayer which is notorious for felt recoil and he has no problems. He is also in his 70's and hasnt gotten scope eye with any of them.

I would look at scopes in the 1-4x range.Does it have to be a conventional scope? There are some really nice red dots both tube and reflex types with pretty much unlimited eye relief.I just put Weavers Micro dot on my 835.I've only put around 10 3" buckshot loads and about the same number of 2 3/3" loads through the gun with it but so far it's holding up just fine.I've shot a number of Slugs through this gun with the rifled deer barrel/Bushnell Trophy red dot and it to stands up to the recoil. Both only cost around 75 bucks. If you can afford to spend more the Burris Fastfire gets great reviews. With practice some do quite well wing shooting with the reflex type so they're more versatile than a conventional scope to.
