Any one use Scope mounted lights? Can I use one to scan? How far out do they reach? I'm just getting into night calling and was thanking. I hunt alone.
There's tons of information in this section on scope mounted lights. I believe most people don't scan with them, I don't. If you're new a lot more information can be obtained by reading through these posts versus individual questions. Here's a good place to start.....
buy a scope mount light with 3 modes...scan with a headlamp...let the call bring them in....put the gun light on low....buy a illuminated rectacle...they dont run off and its far easier to make the shot....
lol..thats the light i had on my gun last night...i was in a ladder stand..it has 3 modes i had it on low the light has 2 yellow gel pieces in it....it was real dark i was watching a jug with chicken livers 2 days old in it hanging from a tree..
it was 30 yards away....i watched a fox...2 raccoons...a possum...come down the trail...had it on low...the red illumination in my scope on low...none ran off with it right on them....even the fox....could have shot them all very easily...
its a good light...and can id a long ways on high threw the scope...
