Scope Question

Been along time since I have posted. Just bought the Savage 112BVSS and am trying to decide on a scope. I was thinking about putting a Sightron scope on it. The one I am looking at is 6-24x44. Anyone have any experience with this brand? The rifle looks to be a good one. It is a 22-250, heavy fluted barrel, 26" long with a wide forearm. Sure is heavy. 10lbs w/o scope and rings. Comes with the accu trigger of Savage's. Otherwise I will more than likely go with the 4200. Thanks.

I don't know about the Sightron but I did just put a new Weaver Grand Slam 6x20 on my new Savage. Great scope and a very good price. Check with Bear Basin Outfitters.

I bought my first Sightron product this past January. I got a great buy on a Sightron 312x42mm Mil-dot reticle and mounted it on my .300 WSM Winchester. I love it. I am getting ready to order Sightron's new waterproof binos SIIWP1242 tonight.

I am ordering another new rifle next week and I will probably get another Sightron scope for it. It will be a 624x42.

Hope this helps and good luck with the new Savage. It should be a fine rifle.

I do not own a Sightron but am interested in getting one to try out. The 6-24 is an 1/8th inch click scope and in my experience will not buy another 1/8th inch turret scope again. They just aren't accurate in the click adjustments. If the turrets aren't going to be used to click to yardage adjustments then I would go for it. I've talked a few people at the local shop and read many good reviews on these scopes.

I put a 3-9 sightron on a 223 last fall and have been pleased with it. I spend a lot of time on a 4-wheeler and am not easy on equipment. The country I cover is pretty rough. All the pounding throughout the season and I checked my scope last weekend and it still was zeroed. I have had some much more expensive scopes that wouldn't hold zero for a day. I have also been impressed with the clarity of the glass for the price. Hope this helps,

Scott

I have a Sightron 4x16x44 on a 300 ultra mag. It has been a very nice scope. Has held up to being bounced around on a 4wheeler. Clear optics.

Just bought a Elite 4200. Haven't shot that gun yet, but will be a good comparison.
