Thought some one might find this helpful in there search for a rifle scope. First off im no way shape no form tied in with any optics company or dealer. Just a normal hunter letting you know what i think about two rifle scopes i just bought for my own rifles. i bought a swaaroski 3.5-18x44 z5 and a zeiss 4.5-14x44 conquest. the swaroski first. The glass is very good very clear and sharp image. It has the brx retical and the lines are pretty thin so you can really get a solid place when aiming. the ret does not look cluttered. the side focuse works like a dream adjustments are spot on and you can reset to zero after your sighted in. Very good glass and a very nice scope. price was includeing shipping 1498.00

Next is the zeiss i was really impressed with this scope with it costing 600.00 cheaper then the swaroski. Glass is very clear and very sharp image. It has the rapid z 800 ret and it is not cluttered the lines are a little thicker so getting percise pin point aiming is a little harder but for hunting will not effect you one bit. The side focuse is not marked with a yardage so you have to look threw it and adjust until your clear. where as the swaroski you can set at say 100 yrds and be close to no adjustment needed. The turrets are also resetable to zero once sighted in. the zeiss is a very nice scope with very clear glass. It cost 900.00 includeing shipping.

All in all im very happy with both scopes. the swaroski is on top of a cooper model 22 in 243. the zeiss is on top of a cooper model 21 in 223. as far as quailty goes from what i can see and tell you is both scopes are very close in the quailty department. For the money i think the zeiss is the way to go. I just dont see 600.00 difference in the scopes. clairty is just off the chart with both. both carry a lifetime warrenty so this is the only scope you will ever need to buy if you decide not to ever buy another. I have had monarchs and leupolds vx111 and still own a vx111. but the clairty of the leupold vs the zeiss or swaroski is well just not in the same world. But the leupold didnt cost near what these two did. I would buy either one of the two scopes again in a heart beat. But for the money the zeiss is the best buy hands down. And the rapid z ret is awsome and very easy to aquire your target. the brx is a little more pin point for target shooting but would be also be a good choice for hunting. If you have any questions feel free to ask i will answer any questions you have. Hope this helps someone who might have questions before droping the big money on a scope.

Thanks for the info.
I'm thinking about the 4.5-14 Conquest.
I got a Zeiss 3.5-10 Conquest with the RZ600 reticle last week and it's a fine scope.

The RZ800, and it'll probably go on the SPS Varmint .243 Win. first, or maybe the .243 Ackley.

Good reviews of two fine scopes. I have upgraded to Zeiss on 5 rifles and have Leupold VXlll's on two others. I only wish the Zeiss reticles were a bit thinner like the Leupolds.
