Went back to one of my favorite spots for one last fling.

I had a 500 yard walk to get to my site across a late fall planting, which everything was fine till I went out to place the caller, holy grease slick Batman. Temp was still at 40 degrees, & the lower field where I wanted to setup was a skating rink of mud. I came so close to pulling the pin, figuring no coyote in their right mind would want to venture out of the woods. Oh well, I'm here, let's give it a go.....

I set up on a N/S fence line facing east towards the goo, light quartering to me wind from the south east.

I started out with several lonesome howls, then into the bunnie blues. 15 minutes later I went into coyote breeding & distress sounds.

Finally, at the 22 minute mark, one appeared at the edge of the woods to my left, surveying the situation.

Luckily he was in one of the few openings to get a shot off, so I didn't linger.

Shot was at 148 yards with my 22-204 shooting 80 grain Berger VLD's.

You just never know sometimes, glad I stuck it out with a nice male as a reward.

Wait for the surrender flag....
