River Runners post on Santa brought back a memory I have to share with you guys.
When my children were real little, we didn't "participate" in the Santa Clause story as we told them Christmas was about Jesus and his gift to mankind. Not a little fat guy who brought presents. All was well until we moved to Alaska. On our way up we drove by the North Pole (just outside of Fairbanks) and what was standing by the North Pole Santa store but a 40 foot Santa! My 5 year old daughter looked up at me, her big brown eyes a glow, and said "See Dad, I told you there was a Santa"!! I looked at her knowing there was no way I could say otherwise and said "Your right honey, there is a Santa!!" We stopped, went shopping in the store and thereafter was out every Christmas Eve looking for reindeer tracks on roofs where Santa had visited. A couple of years they were convinced we had just missed him!!
Moral of the story, enjoy your kids, they are gone in a flash!!
