Pick this T3 up, now the fun begins. Want steel rings so Warne rings are are order, but I want a better recoil pad. Looking at Limbsaver Airteck and Kick eez. Tikka has that goofy angle on the stock instead of square. Did anyone cut to square theirs up and keep LOP right?

I have a year old T3x LITE in 270 win. Absolutely the worst stock in today's industry. I shot an old savage in 7mm mag that would dislocate your shoulder the design was so bad. This unit much better.
The Tikka is bitter sweet. it shoots lights out, but you have you just dump the stock in the end. I put a new model limbsaver pad on mine. It helped, but after shooting several Kimbers in 300 mag, The Tikka design just it lets me know just how horrific and stupid this stock really is. If i don't use a death grip while shooting this contraption, it flies and bounces all over the place. It's the 'how not to' design a stock. My 270 kicks like a full load from a 300 mag.
I plan on getting a manners for it. Yes. The stock costs more than the gun itself. But with a tikka, there is no truing to be done to the action. Mine shoots half MOA with several different loads/bullets/powders. A Yo-Dave trigger spring and your set. Cycling is flawless.
I sold 3 rifles and 2 scopes to get just one good setup for blasting yotes. I got a NF SHV and next is the Manners. If I didn't plan on getting a different stock, I would sell it and move on.
I thought about what you are talking about, but a terrible stock design it just that. Anything else is Lipstick on a pig. I also put a clamp on muzzle brake on it. Good luck!!
