Sharp Shooters Supply?

Has anyone here had any recent business with them?

I ordered a scope base and trigger from them the end of
January. The base came in just a few days of ordering,
and Lisa wrote a note saying the triggers were in a
production run and should be arriving when production was
completed.

By March, I had sent two inquiries about when they thought
they might be sent out. Both were very friendly and courteous
and answers to both were vague. The next email sent bounced
back stating that it was undeliverable to that address. Tried
again in April with the same result. Tried again in May, again
same result. So I tried sending through a different server
(same day, hour) and it went through. Lisa replied that they
were on the downhill slide of production and it should be soon.
That's the last I've heard from them, and no trigger as of yet.

Anyone have any idea what's going on with Sharp Shooters
Supply???

Sharp Shooters Supply is a rather small company that pretty much specializes in Savage upgrades. They have a very good trigger, I have two and love them. They out source the manufacture of triggers and are pretty much at the mercy of their supplier. Brownell carries S.S.S triggers also and they are out of stock also. I suggest patiences but beyond that all you can do is cancel your order and and buy another product. In this situation there is NOTHING you can do to speed up delivery.

They have no BBB rating because they don't respond to the BBB but the BBB lists a number of complaints by people doing business with the company. Checking the BBB is something you do before orderring as it will accomplish nothing after you place the order other than deepen the pit in your stomach.

The first time I waited and recieved my trigger, the second time I orderred from Brownells when they were shown to be in stock.

Do you recall your wait time?

I don't care to cancel the order, since I've read and heard positive
statements concerning their trigger. The only negative I've read was
very difficult to believe.

A few months ago I ordered some bolt head parts and their improved extractor kit, and Lisa was great to deal with, and the stuff was at my PO right quick. No issues here. Sounds like AWS nailed it with them having a supplier issue.

Maybe they are improving. If you search, you can read horror stories for hours on the people that have had bad deals with them. I have ordered parts and Lisa told me they would ship the next day only to find out a lot later the parts weren't even made yet. I have friends that have had similar things happen from them also. Now I just find other vendors with similar parts and better CS. If your parts are already on order with them it doesn't leave a whole lot of options.

There are many companies out there that don't make a run of parts until they have enough orders in hand to pay for the run, most are pretty up front about it. When I placd my order with S.S.S they told me that they were waiting for a run to finish. It is suprising that people get upset over the delay in the production of a trigger but have no problem waiting a year for a barrel. They don't just make your barrel they wait untill they have enough orders to run a spacific rum of barrels.

If you buy from a stocking retailer(Brownell, Midway, etc.) they show things in stock and you get them right away buying direct from the manufacture isn't quite the same even more so when they are small.

I used to do the purchasing and material sales for a company that did insulation work, we insulated ship hulls, engine rooms on government ship we had to use a very specialized stud to attach the insulation to the hull, if we ran out we had to wait until the manufacture tooled up to make another run or shop every other insulator to see if we could purchase any surplus they might have.
