sharpening a guthook

guys i've got a gatco and very happy with the results....but, what's the best way to sharpen the guthook? mine is getting dull and i hate to have a knife that cuts like a light saber and have a dull gut hook. is there a gatco stone that you can use?

I use the ceramic rod that came with my Lansky sharpening kit. Works fine for me. I don't let it get too dull before re-sharpeng though.

Get the work sharp mini belt sander unit.. It sharpens all of your knives fast and will sharpen the Gut hook and serated knives too.
In my opion it has been the best spent money on a sharpener.

If I owned a gut hook knife, I would use a chain saw file of the right size to touch it up a bit. Or anything round: diamond, ceramic, etc.

Wrap 400 ( +/- ) grit wet/dry sandpaper around something round like a smooth pencil, chainsaw file, pen, whatever is the right size. Works good.
