Shockwave questions

I have an original Fury. It's a great caller but my 2 biggest complaints are that it has the erratic scrolling issue in cold weather (just found out that was a common issue, been off this board for a while). The whole scrolling knob thing is kind of hard to use when wearing eskimo sized gloves also. The 2nd thing is the remote is very hard for me to see in the dark, not sure if that is due to the cold or me getting older. It's usually well below zero when we hunt in the dark and the LCD gets very sluggish.

Does the Shockwave remote address the sluggish LCD in extreme cold, and is it easier to read in the dark than the TX-500?

Are the new callers easier to update/edit the sound list or is it still the same process as with the Fury?

Edit: Forgot my other question, will my FoxPro battery charger that plugs into the port on my Fury work on a Shockwave or would I have to buy a new charger also?

Thanks

remote is awesome has three remote settings and also can adjust the brightness that is why I bought a shockwave was for the remote

I appreciate the input. My TX500 also has adjustable brightness and reversible display, I still can't read the [beeep] thing in the moonlight. In fairness, I'm having trouble reading lots of things close lately so it may have nothing to do with the TX500. I probably need to get my eyes checked, but vision has always been my strong sense up until very recently. What I'm wondering is if the new TX1000 is CONSIDERABLY easier to see in the dark, and does it's LCD get as sluggish as the TX500 when it is 10 below zero or have they found a solution for that?
Thanks

I had the Crossfire which had the TX-505 remote. Same screen I think. Now have the Shockwave and the TX-1000 is leaps and bounds ahead as far as being able to see it at night. It has three theme settings for the display (day, night, Foxpro) and you can adjust the brightness of the screen and keypad individually.

I haven't noticed the screen to be sluggish in the temperatures I've hunted in here ( low teens to single digits a few times).

The charger should work, but the Shockwave uses 10 batteries as opposed to 8 like the Fury, Crossfire, Fusion, etc.

I took both of these pictures with an iPhone inside my house with no lights on. The remote was set at 2% for brightness and 2% for the keypad in each photo.

This picture is the “Foxpro” theme.

The screen is really clear in person. Remember with these photos you’re looking at a picture taken with a phone of a screen, on another screen.

Yep. The TX1000, even on the lowest brightness setting, I have no problem at all seeing. That remote has been a blessing to the predator hunting community.

Before I had a digital caller, when I was first starting out, my buddy would constantly be making grunts and growls in the field while fumbling with that TX500 remote. He’d always say, the caller was great but the remote sucks.

When I bought my first Foxpro, I totally understood what he meant. That’s why I’ll take the time to try to talk someone out of buying a caller with that old remote.

Yep, that looks MUCH better. Thanks a lot for the photos AdamT!

Follow up: I have sounds saved on my computer that I bought for my Fury, can I add them to a Shockwave with the same program or has that process been changed?

No problem.

You should be able to upload any Foxpro sounds ( .fxp or .24b sound files) or any other .mp3 sound files you have saved on your computer to the Shockwave.

AdamT great way to explain the tx1000.

I have only had mine a short time (the remote) but man it works very well..... Extremely happy with it.
