Shooting bench vise recommendations for AR's

I would like to buy a bench vise for sighting in my 20" AR-15. I have no experience with bench vises at all but could see how the grip on an AR would potentially be an issue with some vises. I have a conventional rifle also that I just got a new scope for & also needs to be sighted in. So it would need to work for both styles of rifle. Is it possible to get a quality bench vise for shooting without breaking the bank?
Thoughts or suggestions?

I shoot with a big sand bag.. Most bench platforms wont work because the AR grip will be resting on the bench or the rest and will cause major accuracy issues. I use a big sandbag in the front and then a small rear bag in the rear. Just make sure the grip is off the bench and you will be good to go.

+1 for Caldwell Lead Sled.

While it is "portable", I wouldn't even attempt to use it in the field, it's a range only item.

A cheap effective bench is a small table with sand bag set up and an adjustable front rest. My set up has folding legs and I can shoot any rifle or pistol from it. I built the table from some old plywood and wood floor leftovers and folding table legs. My whole set up cost under $100.

I use a lead sled and with the colapsible stock my grip hit the tube of the sled so I cut a piece of 2x4 down to fit under the rear pad which now gives good clearance for the grip.

Thanks for all the suggestions everyone. I have been currently using a sandbag for the rear & a bi-pod for the front however I think I will get a few more sandbags made up to improve upon my current setup.

Caldwell lead sled SOLO model. This under $100 and easily works with Ar platforms and 30 Rd mags as well.

Cabelas has them for $90+, but if you're willing to wait sites like opticsplanet and midwayusa have them for under $80 with free standard shipping.
