Shooting Ranges ???

Bummer.

So glad I live in eastern oregon. I can shoot out to at least 1500 yards not 10 minutes from my house. Flat ground as far as you can see with no trees, just sagebrush.

I dont need a local range or private range. I just get to know a couple farmers and let them know I like to do LR shooting and they say go for it. All it takes then is a Rangefinder and a target stand, and a portable bench, or bipod/rear bag from the bed of the truck and you essentially have a range to yourself.

I dont like shooting with a bunch of people. To many idiots out there. I like to keep my space...

When I move, it wont be on the east coast thats for sure. Already lived in NJ and it suked balls. I'm staying west coast where I can shoot out to at least 1K not more then a 15-20 mile drive.

I guess I've kinda spoiled myself around here...

I shoot at a very private range (must know the owner). No fees, limited amount of other people. Do wish his silhouette targets were setup to swing rather than be solid (anyone care to guess how deep a hole a .222 Remington can put into 1/2" plate?)

The closest public shooting range to me is about 35 miles one way.
The biggest complaint I have isn't the drive though.
It's the fact that his "rifle range" is only 80 yds in length!
Let me tell ya, it's hard for a non-math-person, such as myself, to figure out where to sight a rifle in at 80 yds...when wanting it to be "zeroed" at 200 yds.
