I use a bi-pod.
At first, I had trouble on runners, because I would try and pick up the rifle, and swing with the coyote. That works well without a bi-pod, but with one, it makes the whole thing unsteady and clumsy.
Now, I have learned to keep the bi-pod on the ground, position the 'scope in front of the runner, and fire just before the leading edge of the animal hits the cross hairs. 'Takes timing, but three of my last five coyotes were taken this way...two took two shots to get them, with one being hit both times, so of five shots taken this way, I had three that were hits.
I was considering going to X sticks, but this seems to be working for me now, and the bi-pod is rock steady for stationary targets. Used properly
