Shotgun magazine repair

Many moons ago I lost this little folded sheet metal internal snap ring out of my Beretta. I kept meaning to get a new one, but it always got put aside for whatever reason. Which means that every time I take it apart, mag spring, mag spring end protector, and plug go flying, and it is a pain to put back together. By the way, this is a 12 gauge gun. So the other day I was in ACE and bought two internal snap rings. 7/8" diameter. 7/8" is just a bit big for a 12 gauge magazine tube. You can insert the snap rings by pushing in with your thumb on one side. I also have the tool, but you will not need it.

So I put in the mag follower, spring and spring end cap, then two of these internal snap rings. I put the second in so the gap is 180 degrees from the first. Install the plug if you need it, and assemble the barrel and fore-end.

Just like store-bought.
