If you are going to do as much shooting as it sounds like...you would be better served to buy the most inexpensive MEC reloader that is available and start reloading. A new MEC 600 will run about $125, and used ones are all over the place for $50 and up. Used AA hulls are easily attainable, either locally or on the internet, usually for under $10/100 in excellent condition. Loading shotshells is FAR cheaper than buying factory ammo, and during the course of a year you will save tons of $$$.

my friend used to reload and he said its got were you can buy factory shells about $1.50 cheaper per box then you can reload them but idk if thats true or not /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused1.gif it would be nice to be able to reload my own and stuff...i mean you could have just about any shells you want any shot size i would want from t's to 9 shot you could get hoter shells to but i dont want to be to hard on my new gun...iv got about 300 emptys in a dry box that are of mixture of aa and other shells... my friend stoped reloading cause like i said before $1.50 a box... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused1.gif

i know for a fact you can get 1 1/4 wads for aa's now that would be a hell of a crow load in #5's that would save money i think but idk /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused1.gif

Ryan, I haven't loaded shotshells in years, but it was a lot cheaper then. (course...that was in the dark ages /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif)

Go to www.ballisticproducts.com and do some looking around. You might find out that it's cheaper that buying factory. But like I said, things might have changed. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused1.gif

thanks Hidalgo ill go look around...it sounds really fun and all but i really dont want to screw up my new gun =( that would suck BAD...ill keep looking in to it and maby i will get into it /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

If you can get componenets locally it is still cheaper to roll your own. If you buy online or by mail order you have to figure in shipping and haz mat fees that jumps the price way up. unless you get a real great deal, but that usually means 5000 Round worth of components or better. When I buy case lots of shotgun shell I wait till fall and look at the big box stores they usually have fall sales on case lots of factory shells.

I just bought 10 flats of Federal Top Gun shells at Gander Mountain for 39.90 a flat. These are 3 dram eq., 1 1/8oz. loads of 7 1/2 shot. Primarily will be used for trap. They would make excellent loads for called/decoyed crows. I also load a lot of my own shells on either a Ponsness Warner reloader or a MEC 9000. While it is possibly cheaper to buy the Federal Top Gun or Remington's Gun Club shells cheaper than reloading you will not buy the quality target loads like the AA loads for less than reloading. The savings are not big but I enjoy the reloading! The cheaper target loads are cheaper for a reason. They do not use hard shot and the confetti that flies out of the barrel for wadding material with some of the discount loads can be quite entertaining to watch.
Good luck,
Tuco
