thank you.

My first question is, what type of shooting you are interested in doing? Unless your wanting to get into trap shooting or something simular, you may be better off buying your ammo bulk, like the 100rd. pks. or maybe a flat. [250rds.] Look for 1oz. or 1 1/8oz. in 2 3/4dram. load's. These will be your less felt recoil load's. As for being quiet, well, they all go bang with little, ta no sympathy on your ears.

Getting into SS reloading can be on the pricy side with today's price's. You will not see much if any saving's in reloading your own.

If your intent is to make up your own; the one nice thing is customizing your load's. You can indeed make some soft shootin load's. I can make up a 1 1/4oz.load, running 1300+fps. shoot as soft or softer then a 3dram. load. It's all in the component's your using.

I think the first thing you need is a Lyman Shotshell Reloading Handbook. It will have all the info an recipe's you'll ever need.

my son and i shot crow around frams and would like to keep the noise down a little if we can i will look for the book a shotshalls reloading thank you

I shoot a light load with Red Dot powder. You just need to be careful, changing loads around in a shotgun can be a dangerous thing. I recommend you call Gamalial Shooting Supply and talk to them about a lower load. I do not know if you reload for a rifle or not. But if you do not plan on shooting alot of shotgun shells you can load them on you rifle reloading press. Lee also makes a hand loading kit fir shotgun shells. So you can keep your cost down if you like.

Just make sure you use the proper wad and powder combination.

You can also reduce the noise level a good bit by just going to a longer barrel in a shotgun. Tom.
