shotgun sights?

I am curious as to what kind of sighting everyone uses on there shotgun? I been thinking of putting a scope or holographic type sight on mine but not sure which would be best. All i use my shotgun for is turkeys and coyotes which is mostly at night here in VA. Point of aim is the same with turkey loads and coyote loads so I probably wouldn't have to reline it every time I switched. What type do you all use?

Aimpoint 9000SC red dot scope. It can withstand the heaviest recoil and gets 50,000hrs battery life. I have one on my Benelli SBE 2 and one on my Mossberg 835.

I just posted looking for a scope for my shotgun. Aimpoint 9000SC is one of them but it is around $400ish. Any other reasonable priced scope you know of Beagler?

Vortex SPARC goes for about $200. Very nice optic for the money. Poor mans Aimpoint. For what it's worth I tried a SPARC on my shotgun and didn't like it. Guess I'm old school, prefer the bead sight.

Until recently I used the FO sight's on my 835 turkey barrel.I pulled the Bushnell Trophy RD off the deer barrel and mounted it on the turkey barrel with a 1 piece Weaver base.I like this setup better.I saw Natchez has this sight on sale now but I'm considering trying a different RD only because this one's not so good in low light.

I have an Ultra-Dot match dot on my fathers 870 deer gun. Sight has been great. Always stayed on zero. They go for under 300. Worth looking into.

I tried a red dot on my shotgun. Spring turkey hunting can be very wet, cold and batteries go crazy. I came to understand, it is a shotgun. Thankfully, I had Hiviz sights on my shotgun. So my turkey hunt was not a bust. I can kill a duck at 40yds with just a gold bead. Sometimes I think too much, when simple is better.

Add glass on top and recognize that you may need to raise the comb of the stock also to maintain a decent cheek weld and sight picture. Things get more complicated when you begin bolting stuff on your shotgun.

Yep.

yeah I realize that adding a Red Dot may screw up my cheek weld but was hoping a low profile Dot may work for me. I typically can shoot all shot guns and have not found a problem with anyone of them. My issue with shooting standard sights on shotguns is my darn eyes are not as good as they were since I am 50 and recently got glasses. But for now I am ok with shooting shotguns now as I do not shoot at night anyway when my eye sights are at its worse.

How well does a red dot sight work at night with a red spotlight? Might be better having a regular scope like the Nikon turkey scope or something similar.

The good folks at Mberg had the foresight to include 2 combs for that very reason.

The comb height don't really worry me because it's kinda hard to get low enough on mine for the sights anyhow. My Mossberg 535 has the 6 position stock which has a cheek piece on it.
