Most of my hog hunting is close range at night with a 6.8 SPC and 4x Eotech but I occasionally get to hunt over open fields so I put together a longer range setup.
I wanted a 308 for this so I went with the SIG 716 DMR. I just got it so I have not been to the range but it shipped with sub MOA test target. ( .57 @ 100 meters)
The scope is a Vortex Viper PST 2.5-10x32. The 32mm objective mated up nicely with the FLIR T70 clip on since it was designed to run in front of an ACOG. Luckily the illuminated reticle in the Vortex overlays very well with the internal clip on reticle in the FLIR unit so I expect it to be a very effective combination. I am hoping I can find a way to range better with the FFP reticle in the Viper running the FLIR at a fixed magnification.
