Silencerco Harvester

Anyone have any experience with the silencerco harvester? I'm looking to get one for my .223 and .204 both on a AR platform. Thanks for the info.

I have 2 of them and am happy with it. You might also look at the Omega, it is a little bit smaller. Cant tell you how it works because mine is still waiting for my stamp.

Its a great value, it's always on my calling stick.
Be aware that most cans will generate excessive gas back into the BCG and magazine on AR types.
An adjustable gas block helps, but not enough for my liking.
I think SAS Resistor is made specifically for low back pressure, and that's what I'd get for an AR even though it cost more.
Maybe Rangerwalker71 can shed some light, TIA.

I've been very happy with mine, as it is quiet and reduces recoil (240 Wby, 300 win mag) while still keeping things hearing safe. Currently I use it on: 17HH, TAC20, 22-6mm, 240 Wby Mag, 264LBC, and 300 Win Mag. If I go out and let a friend use my 22lr rifle with my aac element 2, I may use the Harvester on my 17hmr bolt gun too (doesn't happen too often). Wouldn't put 22lr through it though. On my AR platform, I am running a adj gas block, as otherwise my brass was just taking a beating. All of the guns were accurate before the suppressor and nothing changed after adding it. Since is is very light, I can get away with shooting them suppressed or not (doesn't change the impact enough to matter) but who would want to.

Harvester was my first can. I like it just fine, I still shoot it a bunch even though i have others to choose from now as well. Mainly it stays on my 243 calling rifle, but swaps around other places sometimes as well. The only thing I really don't care for is that it is pretty long.

How would you say it compares as far as noise reduction?

I have one as well. My only one currently while my others are in jail. I love mine I use a syrac adj gas block and if you tune it correctly to a specific load my brass doesn't even get dirty looking in my magazine. Its really light compared to some of the others I played with and that was the deciding factor for me.

I absolutely love mine, lightweight and a very low tone. It lives on my .223 and .243 bolt guns. As for my AR's, my Recce 7 is the king there and honestly 'I' wouldn't recommend going with the Harvester as your first can if you own gas guns.

What's the reason you don't recommend using a Harvester on a gas gun?

Strictly because of ROF. You 'could' do a mag dump with an AR with the Harvester but then you'd have a wait quite a while for it to cool down. It has tool steel baffles and an aluminum tube vs all 17-4 stainless on my Recce 7 as an example. Right tool, right job is all.

I have used my Recce 7 on my Ruger American Predator .243 on the bench, but am I going to carry that can on a 22" barrel through the woods all day, nope. That's why the Harvester is perfect as a low ROF can for hunting with a bolt gun.

If the OP is looking for that 'one can'solution for use with bolts and AR's I'd go with the Omega in the SiCo line.

Not looking for the one can solution by any means just getting a decent deal on one thru a friend. Also don't ever do any mag dumps not really my thing just for hunting.

Won't he let you try it on your rifles first so you can decide for yourself? If he's making you a fantastic deal on a used can I say go for it. You will definitely be buying more if you get it anyways;). Get one of those infrared thermometers so you can track the temps of the can based on your ROF.

I can't try it it's brand new. My ROF is so low I don't think I'm going to hurt it but if I do feel the need to get crazy and do a mag dump I do have a trek TI.

10-4, then it's a no brainer if you have a Trek T. As stated it's an awesome can for sure.
