Go to taxidermy.net or com they sell a book for 15.00 bucks that shows you how to skin pretty much all predators.

Rattler- are you doing this for sale, taxidermy or just a rug?

If doing a rug: Make your cuts from the anus to the heel of the pad on the rear feet, split down the belly, and down the inside of the front legs to the heel of the front paws.

Hang from a hind leg, and and skin out the other hind leg. Take a some shears and cut the leg off at the "knee". Skin out the tail and work up the hanging leg. You will now need to take the shears and cut off the hanging leg as the first.

Now take your rope and hang the cat by tying it around the "waist". Now skin down to the front legs and cut the front legs off at the knee with the shears again. Then skin out the head.

Now you will have to go back and hang by each individual leg and skin out the feet, and right on down to the toes. You will need to take some small side cutters to just the last knuckle (right before the claws). The legs will be open, but the feet (paws) will be like a glove.

If you are wanting to have it mounted, take it to the taxidermist you want to use. They will have their own way of wanting it skinned.

If you are just wanting to sell the hides, case skin it with the paws, and save the effort because you won't get any more.

2Flhdn-All check em' out for sure.Thanks.
Yellowhammer-I'll probably tan a couple of hides for myself to keep but if I stack up on em' I will sell them also.I forgot to ask a question but you already answered it.I wasnt shure if a bobcat that had the paws on it would bring more or not but if they dont I wont waste my time with it.Thanks for the info you helped me out a bunch. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif
Im gonna try and get a badger or two if I can so I can tan those as well.I'll skin them the same way so that the claws will be left on the hide.
