Benefits to both freezing and skinning and skinning right away.

If you are going to skin right away you can do more pulling and the hide comes off much easier. However it is also alot more bloody aroudn the face. I can skin one in about 5 minutes fresh.

If you freeze it first thawing is tricky, you have to thaw it in good conditions so you don't get green belly. Once it has been frozen the hide pulls off alot harder and youhave to use your fingers more to peel it away. however when you get down to the face you won't get any blood if you hit the eyelid veins and the ear veins. Skinning after one has been frozen takes me 15 minutes or so.

I wash all my hides so I don't mind the blood a bit.

after i shoot a fox i let it sit until all the body heat is out of it just because the be sure if it does have rabies that it is dead since the body heat is out of it. i personally dont like skinning a frozen animal but everyone has there ways they like.
