Skunks! What to do?

Found 3 skunks this morning on one of my trap lines. Now what? Do I need to move them to a new area? Clean them? Boil? I hate skunks.
 
There isn't a whole lot to do other than shoot them in the head and run for your life haha. Then come back about 30 minutes later when it doesn't smell so bad. As for the traps you definitely need to clean them and boil them. If not the next thing that comes to your set will try digging up your trap most likely.
 
The best way to clean them is actually boiling them. If you boil them and throw in some branches like cedar branches or another tree you have from around there it will help get the smell off. Then once they are boiled you need to re dip them or wax them.
 
I have been shooting them in the lungs/ gut area. 4 skunks this season and no sprayers. Then toss the skunk in the weeds nearby and reset as long as the trap didnt get stunk up to bad. or pull and put a new trap there. coyotes love skunks. rolll in em, eat em. in one spot couple weeeks ago i set two traps on a point by a fence line. next day a skunk. reset and added 2 more. net day 3 dogs, day after 1 dog, day after that 2 dogs. then i had to pull em cause deer hnting was the following weekend
 
I haven't trapped coyotes but trapped fox for years. A skunk never bothered fox, just made the set better. But they wouldn't go near a set that a possum was caught in. The set had to be tore up and the traps boiled.
 
Gonna take the advice from you guys on boiling the traps...

Yes, as stated earlier, if you shoot a skunk in the heart, he won't spray. I also agree about a skunk catch makes a set better.
 
You can bottle and sell the essence, then put the fur up and make some good money. I use acctone into the lungs for skunk dispatch, no sprayers...yet. Just go slow and calmy whatever you do.

JD you inject acetone into the lungs of the skunk. (You give the skunk a shot of acetone to the lungs)...

Hydrogen peroxide with dawn dish soap with baking soda in a 5 gallon bucket neutralizes the scent. Just let them sit fully submerged and it will disipate.

Skin and put up all skunks. You can sell the essence, skull, hide and use the carcass for bait...
