Smallest 6.5 bullet

I'm currently using a 85 g sierra in my 6.5 gendel for coyotes but I would love to shoot something smaller. I have looked around and couldn't find anything smaller. Do any of you know of a manufacturer that would make a smaller bullet or even a custom bullet maker that would make them?

That's nonsense. They make 75 gr vmax in 257 which is only .007 smaller.

To the op I wish they made a light bullet also, I think it would make the grendel and creedmoor that much more versatile. 85 Sierra is the smallest I know of and it's bc is awful. Next would be the 90 Speer TNT which is quite a bit pointier, then 95 vmax.

Because I want to push it faster than 2800fps. I use my Grendel for everything from deer to coyotes so I don't want to get a 223 upper just to shoot coyotes if I can have a bullet that I can get to run at over 3000fps out of my Grendel. I just found a guy that makes a 76g bullet in Australia the company is called Tipan Bullets . I will do some looking into them.

Whatever floats your boat..

I fail to see how that makes any sense whatsoever, but its not my time or money.

QL shows 2945 fps possible with the 85 Sierra, CFE223 and a 16" bbl.

I didn't have any problem getting a good load with the 95 VMax. I have some 85 Sierra's loaded & waiting for a range trip to see how they do in my rifle.

Those WILL blow a Groundhog into. Very impressive splatter effect.Should take care of a Coyote.LOL. To the OP, Why don't you look at the .243 LBC. You can shoot 58 gr. VMax up to 105-110 gr bullets. All you have to do is swap barrels. Not sure about the mags.

Where'd you find those?

I've got gun projects that I look back on and say "what the [beeep] was I thinking"

What does that couple 100 fps actually gain you?

How are lighter bullets a better idea for coyotes through deer?

This premise is quite counter intuitive.

If you want more speed, get a bigger case capacity.

Holy cow. Wishunter, don't feel bad. Often on this forum when asking for info, unsolicited advice is given instead. You learn to accept it in time lol.

Here it is, talking slowly. He wants light, fast bullets for varmints. Also heavier bullets for deer. Many calibers were sold on a dual role basis. He doesn't want to buy multiple rifles or get a different rifle or upper. I see no reason a little lighter bullet with a good shape wouldn't be great in a Grendel. Unfortunately that bullet isn't available yet. Just like people shoot 75 gr rockets out of 25-06's, and all sorts of other stuff.

Hmm....its awfully unfortunate that heavier bullets dont kill smaller stuff. Its even more unfortunate that those bullets that dont kill little stuff dont perform more efficiently as well...Sad, really.

What's unfortunate is that you aren't available all the time to pick everyone's bullets. Maybe you could start your own talk-radio broadcast? "Bullet chat with Liliysdad"
