Just acquired one, anybody have any opinions on the. It has a 24 barrel and is older to my understanding but looks brand new! Value?

AFAIK these guns were made in Japan by Howa. I'm no shotgun expert, but I think the Mossberg 1000(?) may have been the same gun. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong here.

I have seen these guns sell for as little as $200.......

I think they came out in the 80's?? I had the Waterfowl model which, if I recall, was the first shotgun to shoot both 2 3/4 and 3" shells. It had a matte finish and dull stock, but mine didn't have screw in chokes. I also had another version, a 2 3/4" model with an alloy receiver that did have screw in chokes. When S+W gave up on them Mossberg picked them up, but stopped carrying them within a couple years.

They were nice guns and held up well. There was also a pump model, maybe a 3000?

That was a long time ago and my memory may be "way" off. lol

Well mine shoots both 2 3/4 and 3 inch shells according to the manual it came with. Mine does not have screw in chokes either.

I have owned the pump version since 1987, it is a S&W Model 3000 Waterfowler, 30" full choke, 3" chamber matte finish with oil stock, also came with a 20" slug barrel -sling.
Has served me well duck & goose hunting in the coastal marshes.

I just wish I could have found a multi choke barrel for her ad then I'd use it alot more.

T2G

I owned one for many years. I wish I would have never sold it. It shouldered and pointed beautifully. It was the light weight model and I had 3 or 4 barrels for it. Ended up useing the improved cylinder barrel the most. It was one of those guns you couldn't miss with.

T2G for labor and tubes

Tommy2gun,

I have had Mike Orlen ( mailto:michael.orlen@verizon.net ) do choke conversions for me, excellent work, at reasonable price... around $150 for labor and tubes (including shipping). Email and ask for price list (he has no website that I know of). BTW about a week turnaround.
