smith and wesson scopes

i just purchased a new smith and wesson scope from a dealer saturday. he said they were new. i bought the varmint 6x24x42 mill dot with AO. seems to be a nice scope though it is not close to a nikon or leup. after you get past 16x on the scope it seems to get alittle fuzzy or glazed. dont like that. its definitly not as clear as my nikon buckmaster but it was about 80 bucks cheaper too so i guess you get what you pay for. i was just wondering if anyone else has bought one of these scopes and what they thought of them.

I have 3 of em, the 1.5-6x38, 4-18x42 and 6-24x42, like em all, great optics from Japan by Hakko. The 1.5-6 is probably my favorite with 5½" of eye relief on a 45-70. Never noticed the fuzzy that you speak of on the 6-24x, I'd check with S&W for a repair or replacement.

i took the scope back today and replaced it with a weaver 4-16. they said that was the first one that had been brung back. they said it definitely looked wrong. i wasnt completely sold on the scope to begin with, i like the smith and wesson brand for sure but i couldnt bring myself to trust the scope enough to leave it on my gun.

I bought one (6-24 mil-dot)last year because of the price. $139.00. I put it on a Savage M12 FV 22-250 and used it on praire dogs. I also had problems on the upper end of it looking fuzzy. It would not adjust and focus. I called S&W and they said send it back. I called them a week later and they said they would send me a new scope or refund my money. I took the money.

i feel like i just got burnt on that buy. im glad i took it back. i paid 210 for it, he had 245 on the box. he told me that price would be going up on the next order he put in for them. he said his price was going to be 299. i told him he would be better off not ordering them.
