Snow Camo AR's

Does anyone have interest in dedicated Snow Camo AR's? Solid white, tip to tip with one of 3 custom snow camo patterns that I have been developing over the last 3 years.

I've been trying to find a way to copyright the pattern with the logo intermixed and find a place that can print it on a couple special waterproof fabrics I've had my eye on, but cash is strapped right now. Anyway, If there are people interested, I'm thinking about doing one or two in Jan/Feb to see how they look but I'm not a 223 shooter so I don't plan to keep them.

IF people were interested, What kind of rigs would get the most interest?

Not trying to pimp a business, but using an ALL white gun in the summer wouldnt be much different than using an ALL black gun in the winter if someone was so inclined.

No I guess it wouldn't have to be a .223 all, but it WILL be a stock upper...either a DPMS, RRA, Bushy, Oly or whatever....yada yada yada on top of a stripped and built lower (to save you cost) All I'd charge on top of base price is the cost of cerakote + couple hours labor. Not really doing it to make $$, just want to see how these patterns work on a weapon and maybe spark some interest for future work.

Cerakote is roughly $40 per color, so if I got 4 colors and split that cost between the two guns...I'm thinking roughly $150-200 over base. BUT, I have a dealer friend that I will try and get a discount price on the weapon cost so the deal will be as close to retail as I can make it.

I have my new WOA upper and PC lower at Black Ice Coatings right now to get tefloned and a winter camo job. I'll post pics when I get it back. Will probably be 2-3 weeks.

You've got my attention and I know we PM'd about this in the past. I really use my R15 mostly in the winter and it's lightweight keeps me grabbing for it. I do plan to paint this all white. I guess I'm not really into a "snow camo" unless it is pure white or maybe a hint of a really light gray in a GAP style. I've found white everything to be the best when hunting day or night in the snow.

I was thinking of getting setup with dura-coat and going for it. I've got a friend with a sandblaster to get the crappy dip job off my R15.

duracoat is great and 100x better than just spraying with a rattle can, it's about half price of cerakote and comes in more colors but cerakote is much more durable. I'm considering, to save cost...to just do the white basecoat in white cerakote and then duracoat for the small details.

All three patterns are almost completely white with small subtle differences, but I've been advised not to post them in a public forum.

Sure, I'd do whatever you want really. Only thing is that, in my opinion, a camo stock, with a "non camo" barrel doesn't make sense. But if it were stainless, that would reflect mostly white anyway, so that would look kinda cool.
But hey, you're the owner, I'd sure do it if that's what you want.

Well it's a Savage with a blued action and a beadblasted matte stainless Benchmark barrel. So I think it would look really cool.

Yea ive considered buying the dpms arctic panther because I want a snow gun but Id much rather buy a dtech upper in 243 wssm and have it snow camoed.

I would like to see some pictures/final results!
Sounds interesting..
I'm putting together another 18" Grendel basically a "winter" build and am going to send out most of it to be hydro-dipped in the kings snow shadow..
I'm going to do the BBL and GB a duracoat snow grey, aswell as the small parts etc..
But would love to see how your ideas turn out!

I've always LOVED the DPMS Arctic Panther, but if I had one, I'd still strip it down and cerakote all the black parts white, (except maybe the, safty and trigger.

I want to understand clearly. Are you offering to build an AR and camo coat with your camo design? Or, are you more interested in applying your camo design to a customers existing gun? Both are tempting options as I only use AR types for predator hunting and that generally includes snow in these parts.

I guess both really. I am going to build an AR and sell it no matter what...but if folks like the work, I'd be more than happy to start doing complete rifles or stocks as well.

I won't even be trying to do anything till middle of Jan when I get back from vacation. This was started to see if there would be any interest in one if I bought, built and painted an AR.
