SNOW CAMO??

I'd like to get some "dedicated" snow camo. I have several sets of cover-ups but I'd like to get some insulated snow camo. Does anybody know of any such thing?

Game hide makes a cheap version,"mountain prarie" I've got the "naked north" reversible bibs. I would think they would make a jacket too.

The major clothing makers are missing the boat. There's not a single quality piece of insulated snow camo on the market that I'm aware of.

That's not a snow pattern though. It does look like a great treestand pattern.

I know, and it amazes me. I did find some from Walls, but I'm a gore-tex junkie and they don't offer it in snow patterns.

I just hate the bulk of a cover-up suit.

Try www.skylinecamo.com. They have a nice snow camo called Horizon and some good quality material. Prices are reasonable. www.clarkfieldoutdoors has a nice snow camo that is very simple and effective and a good selection of snow camo and reversable clothing. www.hdesert.com has some Urban camo that will work for snow camo and their prices are reasonable/service is good. Most of all I prefer the Skyline stuff but they don't have long enough inseams for tall guys so I don't use their pants.

Kings makes the best snow camo in my opinion. I have a set and love it. It is their "snow shadow" camo. They have all necessary pieces to make a complete outfit.
Hope that helps.

I like the Predator snow camo, but is kinda spendy. I see the natural gear snow bibs now in cabelas might be good. Anyone have any of these yet? MH

I like the kings camo aka shadow camo but I don't see where they offer a set of bibs? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused1.gif Better yet would be insulated coveralls! MH

Last time I looked, Cabela's had lots of snow camo in fleece and in reversible coveralls and bibs. I always keep one of the ponchos from Sportsman's Guide rolled up tight in my fanny pack. I think it was originally German army camo, and works really good over your regular cold weather gear. You are just as well off with just your upper half snow camoed anyway, in my opinion. You ought to write to Snowcamoman, as he has to be a qualified expert on this subject, being up there in Alaska.

Natural gear is great snow camo. Camo is not necessarily supposed to make you look like sticks or bushes or trees because those patterns run together at a distance. It is supposed to break up your outline. Most camos are too dark and are made for the timber. Once you are in the shadows of the timber you don't need a lot of camo except for turkeys. Natural gear camo is the best camo I have used for everything from coyotes to geese. I always wear a facemask as the shine of the human face and hands scare more game than we realize. It is very hard to distinguish what someone is who is completely dress in Natgear snow camo.

I got some the other day. Made by Browning I beleive. It has the realtree pattern on it.Kinda expensive though $210 for jachet and pants(insulated) Really nice looking.

I use Natgear Parka cover up jacket in snow camo. I have never used snow camo bibs before but I can see where they would be helpful. In fact I wish Cabelas still had their Snow shadow coveralls that were insulated. That way if you had to shoot in a prone position etc no worries about getting snow inside. MH

Wow, thanks for all the replies. I think I'm gonna pick up the Cabelas natural gear parka. It looks like a quality piece.

I'm not as concerned with pattern as much as I want a good quality parka.
