Anybody know where I can get a set of overwhites? Preferably cotton, as I have heard that nylon has a sheen that acts like a neon sign. At 6'5" I need the tall stuff, but will take whatever I can get. Many thanks.
I'm pretty the sure the CAL Ranch stores have cotton coveralls. If you don't have a CAL Ranch close by check out any farm supply store or painting store. I bought the Prairie Ghost Snow Camo from there and have been pretty pleased with it. If I had to do it over though, I might look at just plain white coveralls and take a sharpie marker to them and save myself $70.
For budget I recommend untreated tyvek dust suits, but since I hunt the high snow alot, I got a suit... Realtree Hardwoods 20-200. Love it, so handy. Wear your dry ground camo, then when you get up into the snow, throw the overalls on. Worth every penny in my opinion.
Multistage,
Deadeyerichard has it right I am also 6'5" tall and I bought the white cotton overalls at cal ranch last year for $20 and they work great I am really thinking of taking either some fabric paint or some permanent marker and making some random markings on them to make it a little broken up. But I shot a couple wearing them last year. I just don't see the sense in dropping a benjamin for some snow camo that has a name brand on it when I can get the job done for $20. I must admit the snow camo looks awesome and works well but it is defenantly not a necessity.
For laying in the snow you probably do not want cotton it gets wet absorbs water makes you cold gets heavy.
You should try to find some fleece, solar polar whatever. You can lay in the snow and what not and it does not get wet. And it will keep you warm like wool,(the best insulator going next to wool just better if you are allergic to wool like me) /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Where I live in Canada you can find them at just about any outdoor store for about $50-60
Look for white fleece sweat pants and jacket. Go oversized and they are silent especially if you walk through brush to get to your stands like I have to.

I use the Natural Gear Snow Camo coverups, soft and quiet!
+1 on the Nat Gear snow camo. The 3/4 length parka should work great for a tall guy. Probably be a half jacket for you... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
I am 6-1 and I just use an old german military snow poncho, got it out of HQ or some other catalog for 15-20 bucks, other than that i use my normal camo woolies, blends in just fine, lots of rock piles and scrub brush in ND so mixing it in with a little green/brown doesnt make a bit of difference, well at least the deer have never noticed.
A little off topic but Cabela's is having a sale on down/Goretex parkas and Jackets. I have one and it is the warmest parka that I have ever worn. Tech-Down with Goretex. They come in Tall sizes too. I have the flyer here if it does not come up on sale on the website for the code numbers... I have worn it sitting in a snow bank at 20 below (really) and have not been cold.
Sportsmans guide sells some white coverups. I bought the German poncho for $15 and altered it into a jacket. Plenty of good cloth there if you know someone who sews...

Good luck

The German snow camo is what I use too. It has OD splotches that look like spruce boughs. Makes ya pretty much invisible.
