Snowshoe Question Atlas or Tubbs????

I've been wanting to buy a pair of snowshoes ever since I walked through thigh deep snow over the weekend, but I can't decide which ones to get. I've had two strong sugestions to get Atlas shoes, and one other guy that told me Tubbs are the way to go. Do any of you guys have some input for me? Thanks

I'm looking at the Tubbs at this time. I have looked at many different designs and the platforms seem to be the same, but the bindings are where the differences are. The Tubbs have two different bindings and the more expensive one, has a quick set, clamp system, and easy release, that I appreciate because of my artifial knees don't bend well.
The bindings are to the snowhoes, as the suspension is to the dirt bike, and that is every thing.

I've had a pair of 30" tubbs (retail around $275 - they were from a rental fleet and paid about $175) for 6 years now. They have the "ratcheting" type bindings for quick entry. I have never owned any other, so I have nothing to compare to, but no complaints. They serve their purpose. Considering what I know of the two brands you are looking at, I'd say find a pair that are comfortable and functional for YOU and don't worry about the label. You can demo snow shoes just like skis. Try both and see which fits your need best.

I've got Atlas shoes and really like them. That being said, the Tubbs shoes are quite good. It'd be hard to go wrong with either brand. MI VHNTR

Hey kilk, maybe you should just suck it up a little. It wasn't that hard to walk through the snow this weekend for us was it??? Oh yeah, my snowshoes are on the way too. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif If I never have to use them I don't care, I don't want to go through that again!!

Have none, but posed the same question on 24hrcampfr 2 weeks ago. Got hands down responses to buy Atlas 1200 series. Found some online as low as $207. Some responses were from high country shoers to AK trappers. All said Atlas.
