Custom Call Maker
I bought this little production 440c hunter/skinner for another project. Problem was, it was supposed to be 2" longer than it is! It was mis-advertised. Oh well, I figured I'd practice my "Custom Budget" idea on it.

This is how the handmade L6 blasted and blued carbon steel budget knives will be laid out. Some variations, but mostly just like this. The lanyard hole out the back will be just tang, no scale, and the scales will be micarta and pinned plain.

This one is 440c stainless, 6.5" overall, 2.5" cutting edge, and a real nice fit and shape. I heavily modified the grip shape, and put my own cuting edge on it. It handles real nice and it's very, very sharp.

Standard weight leather sheath.

Black Micarta scales with peened brass pins.

Here's a couple pics....

That makes two calls and a knife for me today so just stop it! Quit putting this candy out there even if it is Halloween!

Thanks guys! Got your payment Tom, Thanks! A few more and you'll buy that 243wssm upper for me!

I should be awash in blades by Tuesday! I'm getting 23 (!) back from heat treat, and I just bought a few miscellaneous hunting and kitchen blades. I'll be off the lam calls and back to knives as soon as possible!!!

(Although I'm kinda hooked on the lam calls now! I'm sure they'll keep coming!)

Steve,

I got the calls yesterday... they are all fantastic!

I really like the PVC calls and the "Cracked" call is hardly even noticeable! It is a work of art! Your pictures certainly don't do it justice! It is very pretty and well done.

Now as for the "Budget" knife...WOW again! It is super sharp and fits my hand perfect. I would call it a super bargain! It will be going hunting with me from now on...!
