I just stumbled upon a straggler of a bullet that was in a box of .277 90 gr. TNT's. It is the .224 55gr. TNT High Velocity bullet. I have shot some 50 gr. TNT's but I guess I didn't even realize they made a 55 gr. in .224 caliber. At first I thought it was a 50 gr. TNT, but after weighing it, I found out it was a 55 grainer. After checking Speer's website, I see where they make a 55 gr. TNT High Velocity bullet. Anybody ever try these in a .223 or .22-250? I'm thinking I may have to pick up a box of them and give them a try in the black rifle but I'm not sure what the velocity and barrel twist limitations are on this bullet. Anybody know?

Got to say they don't work to well in the 22-250. Loaded to near max they kept blowing up before getting to the hundred yard mark and they left a smoke trail. They did work good in the .222 though. I don't believe there designed for velocities over 3500 fps.
