Spirits

Alright let me start by saying I'm not a believer in ghosts and spirits. But recently over the last week there have been two occurrences at my house that have left me a little puzzled. The first one happen three nights ago, my daughter was in the shower, my wife was in the living room watching tv. When there was a loud noise from the kitchen. We went in to see what happened there were two busted apples on the floor. There was only two apple in our kitchen and they were inside of a deep wicker basket with bananas on top of them. No one took the apples out and tossed them. Second happen this am. My wife was out behind the house planting flowers and all of a sudden an apple comes flying out from the house and lands in the woods. She jumps up and looks and all the windows are closed. My daughter was still asleep in her room and I was at a gun club meeting. Not sure if I have a apple hating ghost in my house. And I've noticed my chocolate lab has been acting funny this past week kind of like he is spooked.

I once worked at an old farm house remodel job. One day my employee and my self were working in the basement, we heard a bunch of movement on the second floor. We went up to look and all 12 of my 1 1/2 abs 90's were aligned In a row on the floor There was no one else there, and a half hour before hand those fitttings were in a box. The homeowner told us after that she thinks her uncles spirit is the cause of it. I guess weird stuff happens there a lot. I have to admit that one made my hair stand up.

I dont watch the "Ghostie Hunting" shows, but My Wife does. I showed her this post. Now according to Ghost enthusiasts, remodeling can/may excite spirits in a house? Im wondering about your opening post. Are you remodeling? New "to you" home? If not, have you bought any kind of old furnishings or other stuff in the last week? Cus if you havent changed anything in the last week since your Dog started acting skittish, it does indeed sound strange.

I'm a believer in the fact that Spirits do exist...When I retired, the wife and I bought a 150 year old home that still had the slave quarters and rehabbed the whole place and turned it into a Bed & Breakfast...The house was originally built with hand made bricks and slave labor..

I have some photos that were taken while a friend and his wife were in the place, with his dog, working on one of the bedrooms and you can see a change in the atmosphere, over his head and the actions of the dog during it...

My father in law stayed in the same bedroom and he had this habit of sleeping with his feet uncovered and two nights in a row, he woke from a sound sleep to find the covers had been placed back over his feet and this was in the same bedroom where the photos had been taken much earlier...

We also found various doors to have been opened that were normally kept securely closed during the day and it wasn't unusual to hear unexplainable noises on the second and third floors when the place was empty...

In the old Slave Quarters, we found a hidden basement room that appeared to have been set up for storing possibly runaway slaves in berths similar to what you would find in a ship and the room was hidden underneath a double wooden floor...Something unusual was going on at the property...

Its funny that this has been brought up because something strange happened to me last week.

I was at home alone, and being a typical male I was using the bathroom to take a leak with the door wide open. Before I could even start utilizing the toilet I heard a loud short female scream from the hallway right outside the bathroom. Just not something I have heard at home alone before. Needless to say I had goosebumps and hair standing on end for a little while.

Then the next day when I got home from work the lights were on in the spare bedroom straight across from the bathroom I was using. And the room is pretty much empty and just used for storage. I leave for work at 4:30am and it is dark out no matter what time of year it is, I think it would be hard for me to miss leaving the lights on when I shut them all off in the morning and I never even use the room the lights were on in.

I don't put to much thought in ghosts, figured I would believe it when I see it.

My grandma passed away a week and a half before this happened. If that was her goodbye I'm glad I was there to witness it, but it sure was strange.

Spooky, you want spooky, I got some real life spooky, so bad I keep Van Helsing's, the Pope's and Pat "by gawd" Robertson's phone numbers on speed dial, because, my Wife, is turning into, my mother-
in-law.

I just got home from work today and my living room ceiling fan was on.

I don't remember touching that thing sence last summer. Its a low ceiling, I dont even like having it wirling around a foot above my head.

When I was in college I lived in a fraternity house. We had a ghost we all called Polly. She didn't ever hurt anything or anyone but she liked to move stuff around and especially seemed to like the back staircase that led from the second floor directly to the basement. One night I was working on a research paper in our small computer lab next to that staircase. It was around 1 a.m. or so and I got this weird chill. All of the sudden the hair on my neck was standing at attention and I got goosebumps down my arms. The computer I was working on was facing a wall with windows to my back on the other side of the room. Out of no where I see a reflection in the computer screen of a petite person float by from my right to left and disappear through the wall. I decided I had done enough homework for the night and bailed out with the kind of quickness that only a sphincter-tightening experience like that can give a person.
My dad though is the one that can tell ghost stories. He was a maintenance supervisor at a rest home for many years. The facility itself was quite old and one wing was unused by the company he worked for. It had been the tuberculosis quarantine wing many moons ago. He said it was the damndest place he'd ever been in. He'd hear moans, gasping, things would move, etc etc. To paraphrase Winston Zeddemore talking to the mayor in ghostbusters, "He's seen [beeep] that'll turn you white!"
I believe in the paranormal because there are just too many stories and experiences like this that science, reason, and logic cannot explain away.

I couldn't do it. I am scared of crap like that, some we lived in a fairly new house when I was about 4 years ole in flagstaff az, and we would see this green mist in the haul way and up in a corner of the ceiling, my mom told me it was always there but they tried to keep it a secret until on night I was laying in bed and I seen it go floating by my bedroom door. Later on we found out that house was built really close to an old Indian burial ground
