Spitfire SD Cards

Are the micro SD cards limited to only holding 24 sounds or will more fit on 1 card? I see that there are larger capacity cards (4GB?). Will the Spitfire accept any GB size micro SD cards?

I would like to get as many sounds on one card as I can get to avoid having to mess around with swapping cards and linking the remote with the caller to sync.

You wouldn't be able to access the additional sounds, it's limited to 24 sounds. I don't believe there is a way to load additional sounds and access them without linking the remote to the caller.

The limit of sounds is 24...that is not anything to do with the capacity of the Micro SD card but rather the limits built into the Spitfire.

You can load some HUGE sound files onto the Micro SD card and access them as long as you only have 24 of them and number them 000 thru 023...remember to put a space between the number and the rest of the file name.

4GB Micro SD cards do not work in the Spitfire...I tried them. Stick with the 1GB size or perhaps the 2GB size. You can get 1GB cards from newegg.com...I got 4 of them for about $25 after shipping is figured in.

Since the Spitfire does not have any capability of writing to the cards itself and the unit can only recognize 24 numbered sound files...you are still going to have to mess around with changing cards and synchronizing the remote.

If Foxpro ever had a software update for the Spitfire to hold more calls, they would definately need to extend the time to start the new call selected.

Kinda odd but if you reformat your spitfire's sd card and change the volume name from SP1 to PB1, it will allow the foxpro software to load many many more sounds onto the card......but the remote will still only display the ones numbers from 000 to 023. Does not affect funtion at all but it does allow you to keep a copy of all sounds on the spitfire card while using the foxpro software.

Hmmm...now that is an interesting little twist. I'll have to try it out!
