Sportsman's guide

I've been unhappy ever since Remington stopped putting their power-lokt bullets in the .17 rem ammo. They have been loading hornady and hornady bullets don't shoot as well or perform as well on the animals.

Based on a hot tip that sportsman's guide had .17 rem loaded with power-lokt bullets, I went to their website and sure enough, right on top was the listing for the .17 rem ammo with POWER-LOKT!!! I was has happy as a pig in [beeep]. I ordered twenty boxes!!! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

They came yesterday. Guess what... they are loaded with hornady bullets and not power-lokt. I called right away and spoke to two different people in customer service that don't know their asses from a hole in the ground. Bottom line is that they said I could return them and they'd credit back my money. That's fine but I'm so mad I said no. They'd have to do better than that. We'll see what they come up with.

I don't think I have the energy to sue them for false advertising but it sure is tempting.... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/angry-smiley-055.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/angry-smiley-055.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/angry-smiley-055.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/angry-smiley-055.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif

You are not the first one that I have heard complain about sportsmans guide doing this. Others I read also had trouble getting payed the shipping to ship it back. I dont think I will be buying any ammo from them.

Did they come in Hornady boxes or is Remington repackaging them and selling the hornady bullets under the power-lokd name? I looked at the page and they show them as rem. green box ammo and the spec sheet looks like it was provided by Remington. My guess is that remington gave them the literature and they had no way of knowing that it was incorrect, or they have had the same literature since the time Remington sold those bullets and either never updated it or they were never given the updated info.

Hope you find them or a similar bullet somewhere.

I've ordered numerous items from them. So far no problems, as they always have read back the order to me on the phone to verify. That we are talking about the same thing.

I'll also say. I've bought a couple of different binocular's, from them. Used them both for a yr or more. I didn't like the one(clarity} & the other started to malfunction{eye-piece}. Both items were returned for a refund, w/o 1-problem from them.

Denjahn, they are the standard Remington factory ammo. I don't have a clue who actually loads them but they come in the green rem box with "Hornady" stamped on the box to identify the bullet.

Kirby,

I'm glad you had good luck with them. The problem I have and the reason I'm so ticked off is that they advertised them on their website as "Power-lokt" bullets. They are not! I ordered directly from their web page based on that product description. I didn't want Hornady, I wanted the power-lokt bullet. In my opinion, the worst thing Remington ever did was stop making that ammo with their power-lokt bullets. They performed perfectly!

R Buker,

Yep, I hear ya. That wouldnt've set well with me either. Perhaps ya was in contact with a new employeee or some other mis-communication happened along the line. Hope all turns out well for ya.

I'd be upset too. My guess is that the place to vent would be to Remington for giving the wrong info to the S.G or not updating the old info when they switched bullets.

How long ago did Remington make that change?
