Spotting scopes and camera adapters

I'm hoping ya'll can help me do a bit of research. I'm looking for pictures taken through a spotting scope. It would be awesome if you could at the very least post or send me a picture plus the camera and scope used and an approximation of how far away the object was. For extra credit it would be super sweet if you had a picture of the object with a normal 35mm lense or the like and then the same photo through the scope.

I'm asking cause the wife wants a zoom lense for the DSLR and any of the lenses with appreciable zoom are super expensive. I'm hoping using the spotting scope provides acceptable picture quality and then her and I can win with a new fancy spotting scope. Sorry for the laymans terms used, I understand the subject better if it's discussed in binocular terms.

I run a Swaro 20-60*65 HD. I bought it a few months ago, but haven't played around with it much to be honest. I also bought the Swaro DCA to connect my Nikon D40. I only used it once like this, so I'm still in the air about it. I kinda had a hard time taking pictures, but then again, this was during evening time.

I did let my good friend (Brdeno) Brad and his wife take the spotter to their WY pronghorn hunt. I know they took some pictures through the scope. I'll try to contact him to see if he can post a few pictures through the spotter.

This past weekend while on a bird watching forums learning more about digiscoping, it seemed like a lot of ppl ran small, compact, digital cameras behind their spotters and got excellent results. I'm thinking I may go that route if I can't get the pictures I'd like to get.

Only pics I have through the spotter is mainly with my IPhone.

I'm on a lot of OT this week and with bow season right now I don't have much time to mess with my spotter and camera mount. When I get time, I'll try to play around with the camera/spotter to see what kind of pictures I can take.

Crappy picture of a bedded 4pt at around 375yds. This was with my iPhone.

Thanks for that post. Very informative and I'd love to see what results your buddy got and/or any future results you get. I also didn't know birders had a term for it, might be able to track more info down now.
