spray paint question

I had that exact paint job on this scope:
When I got the rifle in that it was supposed to go on, I realized that I wanted a black scope... I started this thread:

I tried every solvent that I have, nothing.... Even after ALL of that, I ended up just painting black over top of it. It may not be a bake on finish but in my experience, it is VERY durable.
As a funny side note: I installed my scope for good last night and accidentally got a drop of blue loctite on the scope. I didn't see it and let it sit overnight. When I wiped it off this morning, the paint under it was GONE... Go figure...
