Springfield xd40

I was wondering if anyone could let me know what a springfield xd40 and a mossberg 825 shotgun would be worth. They're both in great shape. I was looking at trading a rifle of mine for both of them but I don't know anything about springfield or mossberg. Any help is appreciated

there are at least 3 basic models of the XD40 - 3, 4 and 5" barreled guns, or the subcompact, service and tactical respectively. and that's just the size variants - no mention of color like the bi-tone models with the stainless slides , etc etc

its relative age, condition and round count will bear on the price besides the model differences. earlier GenI models will likely go for less because they had issues with the slide finish failing and the gun surface rusting (mien was refinished under warranty because of this issue)

more info needed for any kind of estimate.

as a rough guide i will recommend you search on gunbroker - that might give you an idea of what you have and its value.

Springfield is 4" model. Has 1 mag and 100 rounds of target ammo with it. Around 800 round count. Mossberg is 835 12 ga with 3.5 chamber, around 200 round count. Wood stock and finish in great condition. 100 rounds of 2 3/4" target ammo comes with it also

ya the xd's gonna be in the 350-400 range. even with the ammo included. you can buy a 100rd box of WWB for about $35-40 IIRC at any wally world.

gunbroker is full of them at that price range - and not a single bid on them. NIB with the XDgear package (holster, magloader, mag holster & a couple extra mags) they're under a $500 gun.

good luck with your sale.

Even though the 835 is a great gun, it doesn't bring really high retail prices in used condition. Mines an older version with a camo stock and I bought it for $200.
