Springfield XDM 40 Compact

After shopping for a couple months I've settled on the xdm 40 compact. I'm going to pick it up after work. The reviews look pretty good. The only thing I wasn't overly crazy about was the slight movement if using the extended magazine but the gun shop says a rubber band on the mag where it butts up against the grip eliminates any play. Anybody own one and have an opinion?

I have the xd-s in 45 and really like it. I got the xd-s simply because it's thinner and slightly easier to conceal. I have other pistols if I need more rounds. If I were to only have 1, I'd get the xd-m also.

From what I've seen on the extended mag, it's actually the grip extension that slides over the mags that are loose. It's definitely not something I would put too much thought into. The mags are still locked very securely.

They're nice guns!

I have a XD40 subcompact and I love it. Using the extended mag there is a little bit of play but the extra grip makes up for it. I threw my gun in a mud puddle and left it there for a few mins and it fired without issue. It has passed and exceeded the glock torture tests also. It's a very safe and reliable and easy to use firearm.

I had the xd40 sub 3.8. It didn't line up for me to be able to shoot it accurately without a lot of fridge.ting and moving my hands around. The point and aim was natural feeling to me. I got rid of it for those reasons
